Bear Lake

We took the kids up north to Bear Lake yesterday. The drive up was cloudy and rainy, so we were worried that we wouldn't get to swim. Once we arrived, the rain stopped and it was mostly sunny the rest of the time (I have the sunburn to prove it!). We were able to drive right up on the beach and park. It was great. The kids went crazy for it and even Beth & Sahara went swimming and had a good time (they usually stay out of the water and just observe these days--I guess they think they are too old for fun!). :-) Henry had a BLAST. He was in heaven. He wouldn't even eat food for the longest time, because he was too busy playing in the sand and water. We brought along food to have a picnic and just spent the whole day playing. It was wonderful. At one point the kids buried me in sand and made my legs and feet into a mermaid's tale. I probably won't be sharing the photos of that, as they aren't terribly flattering. After we were done swimming, we went to get some of the "famous raspberry shakes" that everyone talks about. They were yummy. It rained the whole drive home. We listened to music and just enjoyed the feeling of being alive.

Henry kept laying backwards in the water, as if he were in the bathtub. It was so funny.
