This was my facebook status update:
This morning, Ryland (almost 14) proudly said to me, "Today I have been adopted for 13 years!" And so he has. Happy Adoption Day to my oldest son. Ryland's adoption was VERY hard and I ended up being stuck in Viet Nam for 3 months fighting for the right to be his mama. It was worth every second and then some. I am so proud of this budding young man. He is funny, intelligent, sensitive, handy, loving, etc. Our family is lucky to have him. (We celebrated last night with homemade chicken noodle soup, rolls and strawberry shortcake, as Tim and I had a class tonight.) I love this kid!!!
There is SO much to Ryland's story. I should really write it down soon. It is a miracle that he is even in our family. :-)
