Claire's Broken Wrist

Yesterday Claire crashed riding her scooter (Ezra got in her way when she was riding down a hill). Last night she kept telling us her wrist was hurting. Since we had to learn the hard way last year when she broke her pinky finger (waited to take her to the doctor's for 5 days!), we decided we'd better take her to urgent care this morning. Claire is a tough kid. She didn't even cry. In fact, the doctor was shocked when he saw her x-ray and it showed a fracture, because she had barely even flinched when he was manipulating her wrist/arm and so he thought it was just bruised or maybe sprained. Anyhow, she indeed has a broken wrist. We were referred to an orthopedic doctor and she got a cast. We go back in 3 weeks to check progress. When I was taking her picture, she decided it might not be good if she was smiling, otherwise people might think she was happy she had a broken wrist. Unfortunately for her, this means no swimming for most of the summer ...
