Happy 10th Birthday Esther!

No more single digits for this young lady! Esther turned 10 yesterday! She chose homemade pizza for dinner and ice cream sundaes for dessert. She received some fun presents and seemed to have a lovely day. We are so happy to have Esther in our family. Her adoption took 3 years to accomplish and was absolute torture. There were many scary times we didn't even think it was going to happen. She was almost 6 years old when she came home from Haiti and was 26 lbs. She was super tiny. She was extremely behind in all areas. In fact, she couldn't even talk when she first came home. She was very weak and it took her forever to climb up the stairs or eat a meal. We were worried about her for a long time. She has just blossomed in the last 2 years. She learned how to write her name at 8 years old and learned how to read simple things when she was 8.5 years old. Just recently she advanced out of her special reading class and is able to be in her regular class for everything except speech and math. She has worked hard and come a long way. We're so proud of her! Esther is a happy girl and loves to have fun. We love you Esther!

(Henry LOVED her new doll and was kissing it constantly.)
