Science Experiment

We tried a fun science experiment last week. The idea is to make a fresh egg bounce. Take a fresh, uncooked egg and drop it gently into a jar with plain vinegar in it. Secure the lid and then wait. Ours took two days. The vinegar dissolves the eggshell and rubberizes the membrane. You can gently bounce the egg onto a hard surface and it will bounce. If you drop it from too high up, it will crack and run all over. The membrane will be tough and you can easily pick it up. We also tried food coloring in two of our eggs. What fun!
