Winter Ball ... Part One

The Winter Ball was a big "to-do" at our house. This was to be Sahara's first real dance (and therefore the first real dance for our whole family to witness take place) and it was "girl's choice". Apparently here in Utah you have to ask a boy/girl to the dance in a creative way. I had never heard of this, so was a little taken aback when Sahara announced she would have to ask her date by decorating his room. She and two friends decorated Brysan's room with crepe paper and balloons. The balloons each had a word to the puzzle and he had to unscramble them in order to read the message. He said "yes" to Sahara by being in a big box on our front porch. When we came home, he jumped out of the box (scaring Sahara!) with balloons and said, "Yes, I will go with you to the Winter Ball Sahara." It was cute and fun to watch this all unfold over a couple weeks' time. More on the actual Ball in a few more posts.
